I conducted research on online community platforms available in 2025. Some products truly stand out, and I want to highlight the top three.

The top three are Bettermode, Ghost, and Circle

Bettermode is exactly the kind of platform I was looking for. It offers an online community with content, events, and more. The execution is exceptional, and the platform itself is outstanding.

Ghost is the ideal product for publications, bloggers, and journalists. If you want to publish text-based content and explore monetization options, Ghost is an excellent solution. The platform's design is not just polished, it is outstanding.

Circle seems to be the best option for organizing a closed membership club. Whether it is a business club, a lifestyle community, or something else, Circle provides paid content and community features. It is particularly well suited for those who offer courses and want to build a community around them. It is primarily focused on courses, content, and memberships.

These three products stand out as the best in their class, and I would love to test them all.

Other notable platforms are Group.app, Discourse, and Webflow + MemberStack

Group.app is another great option for building online communities and is worth considering.

Discourse is an excellent choice for public community forums focused on discussions and topics. Platforms like OpenAI’s community site use Discourse.

Webflow with MemberStack seems to be the best option for us. This combination allows us to design and develop exactly what we need, offering full creative freedom for website design. While it does not have as many built-in features as Bettermode, and they serve different purposes, it seems like the best fit for the BelfastUX Community.
