Belfast Design Community has officially launched, aiming to build a strong, open environment that brings together designers from the UK and Ireland. It began on 22 September as Belfast UX and later expanded into Belfast Design Community to reflect a broader focus on product design, UX, UI, research, service design, content design, and visual creative fields.

The purpose is clear: designers in Belfast need a shared space for connection, growth, and professional exchange. Belfast Design Community provides exactly that, bringing people together in real life and online to talk, learn, collaborate, and support one another.

The community already runs several active formats. We host meetups and Belfast Design Coffee sessions. We maintain a vibrant WhatsApp chat where designers connect daily, ask questions, share knowledge, and invite each other to projects and events. We're also building our Product and Experience Design Library, which grows with new books and resources. Members gain access to specialized discounts on tools and creative services. This creates a real working infrastructure around the community, beyond just events.

Our principle is openness and participation. Belfast Design Community isn't a company or institution, it's powered by people who care about design and want to build something meaningful together. Talks, workshops, knowledge sessions, networking, collaboration, printed and digital materials, shared resources, and community initiatives will continue to expand.

This launch is just the beginning. We plan to grow the WhatsApp chat, expand the library, invite speakers from the UK and Europe, develop a website and media space, and experiment with new event formats. Everyone involved in design is welcome to join.
